If you're wondering how an area rug can be washable, it's easy! These area rugs have been carefully created with a thin design that can be washed right at home. No special products or processes necessary. Your gorgeous rug will be back to new in only a few steps:

Step 1: Thoroughly vacuum your rug to remove excess dirt and dust. This will ensure you get the best clean possible. If you notice any stubborn stains that may not come out with just water, use a gentle stain remover to pre-treat the effected area. We recommend this Phoenix Stain Remover.

Step 2: Place your rug in the washing machine on a delicate cycle with cold water. DO NOT use detergent or harsh chemicals like bleach or fabric softener- you don't want to damage your beautiful new rug! A 5' x 7' rug can be washed in any standard household top load or front load washing machine. The larger 8' x 10' rugs can only be washed in a front load washing machine.

Step 3: Once your rug is clean, air-dry it in an area away from direct sunlight to avoid natural bleaching. Smaller rugs can be hung on a clothesline or over the back of a chair. To avoid stretching, larger rugs should be laid flat to dry and flipped every few hours to ensure an even dry that prevents any mold or mildew.
